by Alyssa on Jul.29, 2009, under Marketing, Social Media

As most people know women are the true decisions makers when it comes to the buying of household items.  So it would make sense that companies are looking for these women. Well, look no further…Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, LinkedIn and tons of niche sites are like holding tanks for these women.

I know this seems like an old topic, but some companies still need a bit of a nudge in figuring out why they need to go “Social”.

How about this article from smallbiztrendz.com? 42 Million U.S. Women Use Social Media. That’s 13% of the U.S. population online! Plus, that’s only a niche market!

On top of women being an active part of social media networks, of those women a lot are moms. Moms that are bringing up the next generation to market to. So moms not only make decisions for the household but also influence those choices of their children.

Take a look at this artcile from BabyCenter. Their Report reveals a lot about “where the moms are at.”

So to all those out their with a product they want to sell, look to your nearest online social network and start “rolling in the dough”.

It doesn’t take a million to market

by Alyssa on Jul.24, 2009, under Marketing

In today’s marketing world, company’s are afraid of one big thing…the money.

But marketing doesn’t have to be expensive. Today their are millions of ways to market your company or product without spending a single dime except time.

It happens with a little research, a lot of motivation and a little bit of time.

For instance, a Facebook or MySpace page has the potential of reaching millions of people for little or no money by just using the people you know already.

A well constructed and marketed video on Bebo or YouTube can have the impact of a full scale media hype.

To me it just isn’t an excuse anymore for company’s to cut a marketing program because it’s too expensive.

Wake up and smell the coffee people! Market or die!
