Women coming to a social network near you

As most people know women are the true decisions makers when it comes to the buying of household items. So it would make sense that companies are looking for these women. Well, look no further…Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, LinkedIn and tons of niche sites are like holding tanks for these women.
I know this seems like an old topic, but some companies still need a bit of a nudge in figuring out why they need to go “Social”.
How about this article from smallbiztrendz.com? 42 Million U.S. Women Use Social Media. That’s 13% of the U.S. population online! Plus, that’s only a niche market!
On top of women being an active part of social media networks, of those women a lot are moms. Moms that are bringing up the next generation to market to. So moms not only make decisions for the household but also influence those choices of their children.
Take a look at this artcile from BabyCenter. Their Report reveals a lot about “where the moms are at.”
So to all those out their with a product they want to sell, look to your nearest online social network and start “rolling in the dough”.

In my daily browsing today, I found a good article from the Miami Herald about the importance of social media marketing and doing it correctly.

Hey that’s what I’ve been saying but coming from the mouth of Peter Shankman makes it a little more effective.

A new kind of niche market

When company’s identify their niche market, whatever that may be, the next step is finding out where they are most likely to see them and talk about them.
With all the social networks that are so popular today many company’s don’t know that there are hundreds of niche market social networks.
If you have a new book coming on the market, networks like Anobii and Shelfari are lesser known networks that hold your niche market.
With all this “Let’s go green” initiative, networks like Care2 and WiserEarth are harboring a wealth of individuals interested in at least seeing what you’ve got.
So remember when you are looking for your audience, look no further than your computer.
